I am the author of The Monks and Me: How Forty Days in Thich Nhat Hanh's French Monastery Guided Me Home about my pilgrimage to a Buddhist monastery in France after the deaths of my parents. Published in 2012 by Hampton Roads in the U.S., and Canada with foreign translations and publications in Holland, France, Germany, Brazil, Lithuania, Czechoslovakia, Poland, Turkey, and China.
I am an internationally certified Kundalini and Buddhist yoga/meditation instructor, and teach deeply rejuvenating practices to those seeking to manage modern stresses, develop courage to excel, and deepen love and compassion for themselves and all living beings. For eleven years, I ran my own yoga studio in Toronto, which I recently sold to focus on writing, teaching guest workshops, teacher training, and providing private specialized meditation/yoga instruction.
I have traveled extensively throughout India and Nepal studying with renowned masters of various spiritual disciplines with a strong focus on Tibetan Buddhist practices. I have a Bachelor of Arts in psychology/biology from Queens University. I also have extensive training in classical ballet, and have performed in theatre and film with such luminaries as the principal dancers from The National Ballet of Canada and the internationally celebrated author, Michael Ondaatje. I am currently writing my second memoir about a journey throughout the remote regions of the Himalayas where I encountered wandering mystics, wild dogs and barefoot boys in black alleys. I also teach creative writing at The University of Toronto.
